About me
I’m Heather, a Certified Massage Therapist (CAMTC #97705) based in Chico, California. I’m originally from Downeast Maine where I attended College of the Atlantic and earned my BA in Human Ecology. Undergraduate coursework in biology and movement training piqued my interest in anatomy and the mind-body connection, and this led to me pursue training in massage therapy. I attended the IPSB School of Integrative Psycho-Structural Bodywork in Santa Monica where I received my Certificate in Integrative Massage & Bodywork. When I’m not working with clients you can often find me out for a hike in Bidwell Park, baking vegan treats for my friends, or snuggled up with my cats Zuko and Aang reading a good book.
My approach
I work in an integrative style that incorporates techniques from circulatory, lymphatic, and deep tissue massage and sensory repatterning. I tailor each session to the needs of individual clients with a central goal of bringing balance to the mind and body. I’m passionate about bringing the benefits of therapeutic touch to all community members including those who are neurodivergent, have sensory processing differences, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I truly enjoy working with clients from all walks of life—from college students to expectant parents, athletes to seniors, I’m here to help anyone seeking support on their unique journey to reduce stress, manage pain, and improve well-being.

“I got a prenatal massage from her and I didn’t have sciatica symptoms for several days after- and that was just after one massage! I will definitely be returning to her throughout the rest of my pregnancy for back relief."

"She took the time to check in with me about my body and fostered such a safe environment and experience. I have a very heavy 5 month old baby and my neck and shoulders are in bad shape. She made such an effort to focus on my problem areas while still giving attention to the rest of my body. "

You should come to the session hydrated, avoid eating a heavy meal right before, and wear comfortable clothing. Try to arrive a little earlier than the scheduled start time to allow yourself time to transition and use the restroom if needed. Silence or turn off your phone and allow yourself this space to disconnect and relax.
-
When you book your session you'll complete an intake form with questions about your health history, areas you'd like me to focus on, and other relevant information. You'll complete this before our session and it will serve as the starting point for a conversation about what you'd like from our session that day (for example, you may request a massage for relaxation purposes or to address low back pain). After we discuss the session goals I'll leave the treatment room while you undress to your comfort level. During the session I will check in about the pressure and adjust my technique as needed. The environment will be quiet with gentle music and aromatherapy if requested.
-
No. When I say undress to your comfort level, I mean it. If your comfort level is fully clothed I respect that boundary and have many techniques to use in this situation such as assisted stretching, compression, and joint mobilization.

I work with a few different oils and lotions and not all of them may be suitable for all bodies. They are all plant based and I always have at least one hypoallergenic option on hand. If you have questions about the specific brand or ingredients please contact me. If skin sensitivities are a chronic condition for you and you have a lotion that you use at home that works well with your skin you are welcome to bring it with you for your session.

Please reach out via phone call, text, or email and I will respond as promptly as possible.
